Introduction: Color underpins part of the emotional power of film and television. Objective: To analyze the influence of color correction and color grading on the emotional perception of audiovisual products. Method: A systematic review was conducted based on the PRISMA methodology. The corpus comprised 25 studies published between 2022 and August 2026, retrieved from the Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar, Dialnet, SciELO, and Redalyc databases. Results: The findings show that chromatic manipulation alters valence, arousal, and viewer engagement; this effect depends on sex, culture, and perceptual training, and coexists with null effects under pastel-color treatments. Experimental, computational, and psychophysiological designs currently guide the field. Conclusion: Color grading functions as a verifiable emotional tool when supported by the narrative context and the characteristics of the target audience.
